
Recoilless Rifle
Description
Recoilless Rifles are guns that have no recoil, which makes them ideal weapons for smaller vehicles. This is achieved by venting parts of the explosion gases into the opposite direction, creating a force opposed to the recoil. While this eliminates recoil, it also slows down the grenade, severely limiting range. In addition to that, the flash of the explosion gases is clearly visible, and the area behind the recoilless rifle is not a very safe place to be.
Game Use
Recoilless Rifles may be carried by all kinds of vehicles as well as Mechs. It is treated as a normal ballistic weapon. Refer to the following table for all data necessary for game use.
Because of the heat generated, the short range and the ammo requirement, it is not a good Mech weapon. It was designed as a Medium Laser-replacement for ICE-powered vehicles.
